A journey by the #Kalka #Shimla #ToyTrain is an experience of a lifetime! The #UNESCO #WorldHeritage listed train chugs up the mountain, past pretty as a postcard stations and hill-towns. Outside the window, the landscape is a technicolor film- from the scorched foothills to pale green forests of chir to the dense green of blue pine and deodar. This town of Bhojpur is famous for the #BhojeshwarTemple built by Raja Bhoj of the Paramara dynasty in Central India. The #BhojpurTemple has one of the tallest and grandest Shiva Lingams in India. Situated in the 'Princess of Hill stations', #Kodaikanal, the #PillarRocks have become a lovely picnic spot. Constituting a beautiful mini garden; the place is named so as it has three vertically positioned boulders reaching up to a height of 400 feet. The aura here is full of affection and is evidence of a great love story. The 'white cross' which once existed on these rocks represented David Gell's excellent tribute to love. The view of rocks is not something to be missed. They stand as an untouched miracle for the tourists visiting Kodaikanal. The pillars are famous for providing bird's view of nearby surroundings. The chambers between these two massive rocks are called the Devil's Kitchen. Fewer times you might find rocks covered with mist and clouds, but when the ways become clear nothing beautiful than this could be ever seen. Jutting straight away from the hills that surround them, the pillar rocks are majestic. You can come here, sit and relax as you soothe your eyes over the high hill ranges and clear skies. Moreover, do not forget taste the potato and onion bhaji which is served outside the mini garden.

Guna Caves - #Kodaikanal in #Tamilnadu is a place well-known for its beauty and the liberal sprinkling of Nature. A go-to destination for the tribe bitten with wanderlust, Kodaikanal has always drawn travellers from far and wide to its welcoming climes. However, like there is with every place, even in Kodai, there is a hidden treasure, a place of natural heritage, which is slightly offbeat, yet a crowd puller – The Guna Caves. The #GunaCaves go way back to 1821. These, like most other hidden treasures found near #Kodaikanal, were discovered by a British officer B.S. Ward. However, the Caves were lost in memory and were rediscovered for their natural beauty in the 1990s. The Guna Caves get their name from the popular movie Guna, which was shot here in 1992. They are originally known as the Devil’s Kitchen. As per Hindu mythology, these caves are where the Pandavas cooked their meals and hence the word ‘kitchen’. Whereas, no one has yet been able to say, where the word ‘Devil’ comes from. According to some travellers, the word Devil comes from the bats that reside in the cave. These dark creatures of the night are known to treat the Guna Caves as their popular hangout for quite some time now.

Interestingly, #LingmalaWaterfall also offers you a picturesque view of #DhobiWaterfall as well as #ChinamansWaterfall, which makes it a fabulous spot for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. The #waterfalls are divided into two levels – the lower deck and the upper deck. The lower deck has the mini #waterfall which is perfect for swimming and splashing around since it is much safer. #HidimbaDeviTemple, locally known as #DhungariTemple, also known variously as the #HadimbaTemple, is located in #Manāli, a hill station in the State of #HimāchalPradesh in north India. It is an ancient cave temple dedicated to #HidimbiDevi, wife of Bhima, a figure in the Indian epic Mahābhārata. The temple is surrounded by a cedar forest called Dhungiri Van Vihar at the foot of the Himālayas. The sanctuary is built over a huge rock jutting out of the ground which was worshiped as an image of the deity. The structure was built in 1553 by Maharaja Bahadur Singh.
