Tomb of I'timฤd-ud-Daulah, #Agra, India! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ Tomb of I'timฤd-ud-Daulah (I'timฤd-ud-Daulah Maqbara) is a Mughal #mausoleum in the city of Agra in the Indian state of #UttarPradesh. Often described as a "jewel box", sometimes called the "#BachchaTaj" or the "#BabyTaj", the #tomb of I'timฤd-ud-Daulah is often regarded as a draft of the Taj Mahal. The tomb, built between 1622 and 1628, represents a transition between the first phase of monumental #Mughal #architecture – primarily built from red sandstone with marble decorations, as in Humayun's Tomb in Delhi and Akbar's tomb in Sikandra – to its second phase, based on white marble and pietra dura inlay, most elegantly realized in the Taj Mahal. The mausoleum was commissioned by Nur Jahan, the wife of Jahangir, for her father Mirzฤ Ghiyฤs Beg, originally a Persian Amir in exile, who had been given the title of I'timฤd-ud-Daulah (pillar of the state). Mirzฤ Ghiyฤs Beg was also the grandfather of Mumtฤz Mahฤl (originally named Arjumand Banu Begum, daughter of Asaf Khan), the wife of the emperor Shah Jahan, responsible for the construction of the Taj Mahal. Nur Jahan was also responsible for the construction of the Tomb of Jahangir in Lahore. It is noticeable for the first use of pietra dura (floral design made up of semiprecious stone) technique. The Govind Dev temple is one of the oldest temples present in #Vrindavan. The temple was built by Raja Maan Singh in the 16th century following an indo-islamic style of architecture which was prevalent at the time. The idol once enshrined here has a deep significance and was excavated by saint Chitanya Mahaprabhu’s disciple, later to be moved to a temple in #Jaipur for safety where it is present today. #SoundararajaperumalTemple is a temple dedicated to the #HinduGod, Vishnu. It is located in #Nagapattinam, a town in the South Indian state of #TamilNadu. Constructed in Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandha, the early medieval Tamil canon of the Azhwar saints from the 6th–9th centuries AD. It is counted as one among the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu. Vishnu is worshiped as Soundararaja Perumal and his consort Lakshmi as Soundaravalli. The temple is believed to have been built by the Medieval Cholas of the late 8th century AD, with later contributions at different times from Thanjavur Nayaks. The temple has two inscriptions dating from the Chola period. The temple has a five-tiered rajagopuram (gateway tower) within a granite wall. The complex contains all the shrines and water bodies associated with it. Soundararaja Perumal is believed to have appeared for sage Markandeya, Dhuruva, Saleesan and the Hindu god Bhoomadevi. The temple observes six daily rituals and three yearly festivals. The chariot festival, celebrated during the Tamil month of Chittirai (March–April), is the most prominent festival of the temple. The temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
